Some History of our community: Winona Lakes was a community envisioned by Karl Hope, president of American Landmark Corporation, who embarked on a course of residential and commercial property development in Bushkill Pennsylvania. In 1971 the property we now call our home, known as Winona Lakes was purchased and subdivided into twenty sections. Within this vision was to develop a community with amenities such as a Clubhouse, indoor and outdoor pools, baseball fields and tennis courts.
At its inception, Winona Lakes was a weekend-recreational community with 23 miles of rustic unpaved roads. In due course, the WLPOA (Winona Lakes Property Owners Association) was formed. At the inception of the Association, and at that point in our history less than a dozen children boarded the school bus each morning. Today we have a vibrant residential community (yes, lots of children) with a mixture of both full time and part time residence.
You will enjoy living here in scenic Winona Lakes. Our community welcomes you.
